The Austin-Healey ("Big" Healey) is one of the iconic British sports cars: the first Austin-Healey 100 model was unveiled at the 1952 Earls Court Motor Show, and when the last car rolled off the production line in 1967, over 73,000 examples had been built. The four and six-cylinder Healey 100s and the later 3000 model were masculine 'hairy chested' sports cars in the best tradition.
This edition is designed to appeal to all fans of British sports cars as well as to Austin-Healey owners and enthusiasts. The book features the complete history of the car; period and modern colour photographs; and production figures and specifications.

I really enjoy the Haynes Great Car Book series, and this book is no exception. Page after page is covered with beautiful, studio style color photographs (not retouched), accompanied by clear and concise text. The detailed exterior/interior photos make this book a valuable reference for both Austin Healey restorers and scale model builders. This book would make a great addition to any classic sports car enthusiast's library.

Had one, wish I had found the money to keep it. Bought a 1961 model in summer of 1966; had to sell it in 1973 and was dumbest decision ever made.

Bill Piggott has written 12 books on classic British sports cars, principally Triumph TRs and Austin Healeys. A lawyer by profession, although now retired, he has owned, driven and maintained such cars for around 45 years.
He is married, living on the Shropshire/Hereford border, and his other interests include amateur dramatics, swing and ballroom dancing, British butterflies, steam railways ... and good food and wine.
