Edgar Wilson Nye was an American comedian, journalist, and columnist who published under the pen name Bill Nye. In the late 1800s, Bill Nye became well-known for his clever and amusing writings. He started his career as a journalist, contributing to a number of newspapers. It was a satirical column he founded called "The Boomerang" in the Laramie Boomerang, a daily published in Wyoming, that gave Nye his first break.
