The name Captain Cap was born from my bond with my daughter. Wanting to be her constant guide and safe harbor through life's ups and downs, I half-playfully and half-purposefully adopted the persona of "Captain"a symbol of steady guidance, protection, and security. "Cap" became the affectionate shorthand my daughter used, a name that stayed with us and evolved into my author identity. To her, Captain Cap wasn't just a parentI was the one steering the ship, keeping her safe, and helping her navigate both the calm and stormy seas of growing up.

Captain Cap is a devoted work-from-home dad whom I had spent the past decade raising my daughter with unwavering presence, patience, and heart. From her earliest days, I witnessed her emotional growth first-handthe frustrations, the bravery, the curiosity, the big feelings, and the little triumphs that shape who children become. These real-life experiences inspired me to create the Growing Up with Borb and Ghostie series, a collection of stories that reflect the social and emotional stages every child encounters and every parent recognizes.

The characters Borb and Ghostie originated from the whimsical names my daughter loved during her early imaginative years. What began as simple bedtime characters soon grew into meaningful representations of courage, friendship, and emotional learningdesigned to help children understand their feelings and help parents guide important conversations at home.
