We're often told we should set better boundaries. But that's difficult if we don't know how.
If you find it challenging setting boundaries, such as being unable to say 'no' and letting things go when deep down you know you shouldn't, or you over-react when pushed, then you are probably a kind, warm and accepting person.

We're often told we should set better boundaries. But that's difficult if we don't know how.

If you find it challenging setting boundaries, such as being unable to say 'no' and letting things go when deep down you know you shouldn't, or you over-react when pushed, then you are probably a kind, warm and accepting person.

When you manage to set a strong boundary you likely feel guilty, as if you've been selfish or rude and have hurt the other person's feelings.

On the other hand, if you have no problem saying 'no' and keeping people at arms length, you might want to learn how to connect more intimately with others while maintaining the ability to keep yourself protected.

Conscious Boundaries explains what boundaries are and how to set them with greater consciousness - or choice.

Using concepts from Voice Dialogue and the Psychology of Selves, you'll learn how to recognise your primary, or default, way of setting boundaries and then how to draw on both new and hidden facets of yourself to balance and add options to your default reaction.

You'll discover how your inner rule system, your inner critic and your vulnerable inner child all affect your boundary-setting style and you'll gain tools to empower your boundary-setting ability.

About the author: Astra Niedra is an internationally-renowned teacher of the personal growth work Voice Dialogue, and is author of The Perfect Relationship, Which Self Are You? and Enlightenment Through Motherhood.
