Timing is everything. Nineteenth-century Dispensationalism is a contemporary version of a gnostic gospel that has existed for nearly two millennia. Many mainstream pastors are now rushing to reassess and reshape core beliefs and doctrines that were once regarded as foundational and unquestionably biblical. Churches are splitting over this issue. In this book, Carranza illustrates how the entirety of American Protestantism has gradually degenerated into a more nuanced and insidious manifestation of the already distorted nineteenth-century American religious mindset. What began as a slow fall to the bottom--a "Christianity" that prioritized pleasing the masses and catering to their desires for a more palatable form of faith--turned into a landslide.

Christopher Raoul Carranza, a longtime author and researcher, wrote the 2004 book that changed the sleep disorder field, Banishing Night Terrors and Nightmares. His 2023 book, The Battle for the Divinity of Christ in the Early Centuries, continued his penchant for rigorous and in-depth study by thoroughly documenting struggles in the church's early history and examining how the same issues resonate in America today.
