Together with the enigmatic Wai Le, Alex must face spirits that no longer restand truths that no longer sleep. A rose-carrying child, a demon of desire, and a sister whose pain is carved in logic pull him into a new trial of shadow and soul.

As love deepens and danger sharpens, the line between this world and the next begins to blur.

Shadows Beyond the Gate is a queer spiritual fantasy of soul magic, haunted memory, and the courage to walk where others fear. The second book in the Echos of the Veil series invites you deeper into the unseenwhere every shadow holds a story, and every gate demands a choice.

Autorenporträt
Seraphin Woodwall is a storyteller of shadows and soul. Born and raised in New Orleans, she grew up surrounded by old books, ghost stories, and the lingering scent of jasmine after the rain. Her writing weaves together the mystical and the emotionaldrawing from her own search for meaning, identity, and healing.

Before turning to fiction, Seraphin worked as a language teacher, cultural researcher, and grief support facilitator. Her background in cross-cultural storytelling, ritual traditions, and spiritual psychology shapes the worlds she createswhere memory is magic, the veil is thin, and love often comes softly but transforms everything.

Echos of the Veil is her debut fantasy series. It reflects her belief that the most powerful journeys happen withinand that sometimes, to find the truth, you must step into the unseen.

Seraphin lives in Portland with too many notebooks, a cat named Lumen, and a growing collection of tea she rarely finishes.
