Autorenporträt

Selwyn Rogers, Jr., MD, MPH, FACS, serves as the section chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and the James E. Bowman, Jr., MD Professor at The University of Chicago Medicine, where he also helped to launch the Violence Recovery Program. Dr. Rogers is an acclaimed trauma and critical care surgeon and public health expert who has served in leadership capacities at health centers across the country, including the Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH), Temple University School, and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. In 2024, he was elected to the National Academy of Medicine. Dr. Rogers earned his undergraduate degree at Harvard College magna cum laude and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed both his surgery residency and surgical critical care fellowship at BWH. Dr. Rogers also holds a master's degree in public health from Vanderbilt University.
