Autorenporträt
Floris van den Broek graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Master's in business administration (1990 ). He holds a Doctoraal (MSc) in computer science (1988) from University of Nijmegen (graduation at Eindhoven University of Technology) in the Netherlands as well as Pro-pedeuse degrees in law and economics from the universities of Nijmegen and Amsterdam, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. with research on Management of International Networks at Delft University of Technology in 1999. He is currently managing director, the Netherlands, for Level (3) Communications. From 1990 to 1998, at Lucent Technologies and AT&T, he held various positions such as international sales manager, human resources manager Eastern Europe, and European product manager for switching systems in the regional headquarters in the Netherlands. He worked in the U.S. for three and a half years as international sales director global accounts at Lucent Technologies, and as multilateral services director for AT&T, responsible for international networks for non-traditional services. He is also a board member for several Internet startups. Dr. Van den Broek is author of a number of articles on management of international networks, of which two appeared in the International Journal of Network Management in spring and summer 1997. He is also associate editor of the Telecommunications Handbook, published in 1999 by CRC Press.
