Viola Marpessa was born special, even among the Faerie folk. She was born to be a Faerie sorceress, so her parents relinquished her as an infant to the magic wielding community on Shadow Mountain, where the dragons dwell. There she grew up and learned to use her gifts. There she was perfectly content to stay...but one day, a Faerie prince and an Elf, the last of his kind, come to escort her home - to the realm of Nuneau in the east and the castle on the coast, where her sisters, including the Queen herself, impatiently await her return.

Getting there though proves to be an adventure. She and her two escorts encounter a number of strangers and surprises: a half-mortal, half-Faerie Bandit King and his band of malcontents, an antiquarian Redcap Bogle, a pile of evil called Badenoch Castle, and five fearsome Jinn. But home she will go and nothing will stop her from being reunited with her sisters, not even the Jinn sending their castle flying across the great cloud seas.

I am a self-taught artist and 'indie' author. My literary playground is in the fantasy genre with novels set either in our world, twice involving the mythological gods, or in my invented world. These novels run the range between dramatic, to purely adventurous and even comical. I have published most of my novels via lulu.com, and I will likely keep some of them available there.

I was born in southern California, but have lived in New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska (twice), Maryland (and worked in DC), and finally moved back to New Mexico.
