The Encounter with God.
What did God say you were to do?
Where is it supposed to be done?
When is it going to be done?
Until and unless you have a sure vision from God you are just curbing your own way in to the things of God. In simple terms any true church of God or work of God begins with meeting God and receiving a mission and vision for the said work. In simpler terms it has to be God who sends and set you forth or else you are forging you own craft.
Whether it be the circumcision or the mission of man to repopulate the earth or the Mosaic Law; it all begins with an encounter with God. A set mission set in a specific vision so that one may know whether they are effectively doing it or is defecting. The mission usually has a set of objectives to fulfill and to measure one's progress in to the vision of God set before him/her. Without a mission and vision from God we are not doing the work of God but our work that looks or takes after the work of God. A thing that means the dangers and the trials you meet will be faced by you not through the one who is the giver of visions. A thing that means every personal danger and hiccup adds upon your head and compounds to your responsibility.
Whether it be Abraham, whether it be Moses, John the Baptist, Paul the Apostle, Apostle Peter who was sent to all peoples, even Jonah; they were given a sure mission to accomplish and know if it was done or not. The ideal being, all the honor and the glory is put in and set in the mission so that when the man appears under the vision; He may emanate the glory of the vision and mission set on him. One simple example is Moses when he returned from Sanai; the Holy Bible says his face shone and the most meek of all men on earth when he came holding the stone covenant in his hands; from that day on he had to cover his face for the people even his siblings did get terrified of him.
Exodus 34:27-35 KJV And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai. And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face. But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded. And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
In simple terms Moses through out the convocation lived among Israel but Israel could not look in to his face because of the terror of the vision he carried. Before when he had just had an encounter with God and did get the instruction to take Israel out of Egypt his face did not shine. He had been in the presence but until when he had received the vision in his hands; his face shone so much they would not come near him without him putting on a Vail.
