My military career was spent billeted with the U.S. Marines. From my initial military training of "A" School, my tour on Guam and the 15 months aboard, the amphibious helicopter attack carrier, the USS Valley Forge LPH-8. This time was spent with these men.Living through the Cuban Missile crisis, the death of my own father, President Kennedy's assassination and the Vietnam conflict, coupled with the memories of .50 Cal. tracers, rockets, and of Marines returning to the ship as Medivac's, and DOA's, or not returning at all, has shaped my past, my present and my future, shouldering me with a shadow which has followed me my entire life, "PTSD".

My one salvation is just that, "Salvation", being introduced to the life saving Grace of Jesus Christ, through the acceptance of his gift of eternal life. Being able to lean on Him and allow Him to carry me through the tough times and keeping me from being a number "22". My wife was the introduction catalyst, and I owe the two of them my life.

My therapy was my ability to put down on paper through pen and ink sketches, photo illustration and the written word my experiences and feelings these Marines generated in my life. God Bless these warriors, hero's, living and the ones who have passed on, for their sacrifice…
