Four broken things: a house, family, heart, and sense of identity. From the smoke-filled rooms of Eri's home to the vast expanses of the cities they've visited and the worlds they've become a part of. All of this is around a backdrop of negotiating their own sense of identity and its relationship to the society within which they operate.
The society is also something they are forced to call home. After all, when the sense of identity is put into question when we are forced to confront ourselves in the mirror, then the societal gruesome identities are brought forward. From their own body to moving on from heartbreak, this new sharp collection from a new voice within literature is sure to create a thought-provoking, sharp collection of poetry that contends with what it means to function within society as we watch its seams become ripped apart.
As it breaks, one question remains: how do we view ourselves in a society that is already breaking?
