Autorenporträt
Tom Meschery, born Tomislav Nikolaevich Mescheriakov in Harbin, Manchuria, (China) is an ex-NBA player for the Golden State Warriors and Seattle Sonics, and a retired high school and college English teacher. A graduate of the University of Iowa's Writers Workshop, he has published six collections of poetry. His Brovelli Brothers Mystery Series, beginning with The Case of the '61 Chevy Impala and The Case of the '66 Ford Mustang, are now available at bookstores and online at Amazon. His memoir, The Mad Manchurian is forthcoming. Meschery has coached in the NBA and traveled to West Africa where he helped coach national teams. He was inducted into the California Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame and the State of Nevada Writers' Hall of Fame. Meschery has been described as the NBA's Poet Laureate. His jersey, number 14, was retired by the Golden State Warriors and hangs in the rafters of Chase Center Arena along with his teammates' Wilt Chamberlain's number 13, and Rick Barry's number 24. Tom Meschery lives in Sacramento, CA with his wife, painter and art historian, Melanie Marchant.
