An off-world race enlists the people of a small rural town to help mine the valuable ores and elements native to Earth. During a harsh Minnesota winter, most of the townspeople working for the Colar find that they are safe, warm, treated well, and are paid in gold. When the decision was made to accompany the alien race and leave the harsh conditions on Earth, the eighty-plus residents of Dog River realize and understand the differences between an abduction, and a job interview. Written for all ages.
