Born on April 9, 1863, in D n Laoghaire, Ireland, he became an established writer, publishing works under his own name and occasionally using the pseudonym Tyler de Saix. Stacpoole's literary works often explored themes of love, loss, and human connection, many set in tropical or exotic locations, reflecting his passion for travel and adventure. His writing resonated with readers for its vivid settings and emotional depth, and The Blue Lagoon remains his most famous work. Stacpoole was married twice, first to Margaret de Vere Stacpoole in 1907, and later to Florence Robson in 1938. He passed away at the age of 88 on April 12, 1951, in Shanklin, United Kingdom. His works, though primarily known for their romantic themes, also captured an essence of escapism, making them timeless classics.
