Dave Covington has an ex-wife and two stepsons. He graduated from McClave High School in McClave, Colorado. He graduated in 1989. He served in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman toward the end of the Iraq War in 1991. He also served in the Army National Guard as a field medic. He served in units in Kansas and Wyoming.After his military service, he went to Chadron State College. He attained a bachelor's degree in Special Education K-12. He taught in a self-contained classroom in Arkansas. He is retired but stayed involved in the Special Olympics.He loves to travel around the world and the United States. He is an active Buddhist monk.
