Not everyone is happy, though. The grumpy walrus Captain Waldo, proud defender of fish stew, is furious. He vows to sabotage Percy's cocoa at every turnwhether by ruining shipments of cocoa beans, trying to destroy the café, or crashing the celebrations.

Through clever tricks, teamwork, and a whole lot of marshmallows, Percy and his friends outsmart Waldo again and again. At last, during the very first Festival of Hot Chocolate, Waldo makes one last attempt to stop themonly to discover, to his surprise, that he actually likes cocoa after all.

With enemies turned friends and hot chocolate firmly established as a new tradition, the South Pole is never the same again. Every winter, the colony gathers for the Festival of Hot Chocolate, raising mugs to warmth, joy, and the penguin who started it all.
