Autorenporträt
Victor Gladwish was born in 1944 in The City of Westminster, London, during a German bombing raid. His parents, Free Fighting Belgians, moved to England in 1939, later returning to Europe after the war. In the 1940s, Victor learned English, Dutch, Flemish, Walloon, and German. The family returned to England in 1949, where he attended schools like William Wordsworth, developing an interest in history and geography. In the 1960s, Victor served in the Royal Engineers in Germany. In the 1970s, Victor published over 200 parts of his Encyclopedia of English Written Matchbox Labels, gaining international recognition and being named a professor at the 1980 Moscow Exhibition. The 1980s saw him start his own match company, labeling imported matches for businesses, and founding "Gladwish Land Sales," a unique enterprise that handled land surveying, plotting, sales, and conveyancing in-house.In 1954, after a childhood incident involving infrared treatment, Victor began experiencing visions of the past. He soon realized these were memories passed down through generations via "memory genes." After 60 years of research, Victor concluded that his visions were linked to his family's lineage, culminating in his groundbreaking work, The Power of the Memory Gene.
