Sandra Finney, in her lifetime in education, has had many roles including public school teacher, curriculum developer, and teacher educator at all times working to support students' overall well being, cross cultural understanding, and critical and creative thinking abilities. She is the author of Strong Spirits, Kind Hearts: Helping Students Develop Inner Strength, Resilience, and Meaning.

Jane Thurgood Sagal has served as a teacher, educational administrator, and curriculum leader in the K-12 education sector for over 34 years. In her previous publication, Shifting Horizons of Understanding: How Teachers Interpret Curriculum in Their Practice, she demonstrates her commitment to collaborative engagement with others and the inclusion of a diversity of voices in her work.
