This book is based upon Dr. Brian Keen's doctoral thesis entitled, Theology As A Scientific Discipline to earn his Doctor of Theological Study (DTS) Summa Cum Laude at Bethany Divinity College and Seminary, Canadian Connection on 3rd June A.D. 2004. Dr. Keen first published the thesis as Power Living Through Science with iUniverse in 2010. This is an update due to further theological research, which is natural for all scientific disciplines, Dr. Keen has been a Presbyter in the Orthodox Church being Ordained on 20th August A.D. 1988. He presently serves at the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd - Canadian Orthodox. He also serves as a theologian at The Revelation Centre. This is further culmination of Dr. Keen's lifetime goal to be a theologian and scientist. He accidently took his first theology course with The Salvation Army when he was in grade 6. These courses were distance learning courses under the authority of Commissioner Renee Booth, the co-Commander with her husband Commissioner W. Wycliffe Booth. There has not been one successful challenge to this book. There has only been one dispute, which was easily defended. An atheist wrote, "The supposition is there is no god." In scientific research one cannot have a negative supposition.

Dr. Brian Keen started working prior to grade 2! He had a paper route delivering The Toronto Telegram Newspaper. He learned cashflow and customer service.
He was mediocre in school, except when he accidently was encouraged by his grandfather to enroll in a "Sunday School" program through mail. It turned out to be a theology course for secondary school students preparing to go into the ministry in The Salvation Army. He was getting at least 90 degrees in these courses.
He went to see a popular movie, "A Man Called Peter" at the local movie theatre in Markham during the usual Saturday matinee. In the movie, he heard a voice calling 3 times, "Peter" very softly, then louder, and finally like thunder. He felt that this was a Call to him also. No one else had heard the voice!?!
He became interested in science when on a hot day on vacation he decided to sit in a hot motel to watch a television program about "A Fly Who Travelled 60 miles per hour". It was about perspective! The fly and people were on a train and everyone in the train was travelling at 60 m.p.h. but from their perspective that didn't feel the effects of the train once they got going.
He dropped out of high school because he failed twice in 5 years.
He spent one year not attending any church services but praying for guidance. At the time I was a soldier in The Salvation Army. He went back to his Corps (Church) and told the Officer in charge that he thought he was called to Ministry.
There was an opening for the Emergency Worker position at the Family Services of The Salvation Army. He was interviewed by Major Harold Kennedy, the Supervisor, and was accepted. Major Kennedy was patient with him and encouraged him to work with other agencies to provide comfort and ministry to mainly fire victims.
There was already an agreement with the Red Cross in Toronto.
He then got permission from Major Kennedy to recruit: Operation Blessing, Scarborough, Etobicoke, and North York Red Cross Chapters; and other organizations and religious groups.
He took training with the Ontario Division of Red Cross and became a qualified trainer with the red Cross conducting training sessions for Nursing Homes, who received accreditation requirements for the training, as well as other organizations. He wrote the manual Volunteers Emergency Services Manual for the Regional Municipality of York a 35 page manual. The training was so realistic when "The Aurora Banner" newspaper sent a reporter and later a photographer, The photographer was heard asking, "Shouldn't I be at the fire instead of here!"
York Region was happy with his team of volunteers for "Operation Pickering" a mock disaster concerning the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station since we performed with excellence.
On 13th June 1987, he became a member of the Orthodox Church after studying for 1 year as a catechumen studying with Duarte Costa University run by the Western Orthodox Church in America (WOCA). On 14th June he was ordained to the diaconate. He commenced the Work at Saint Polycarp's Parish, training people in the Book of Revelation.
After receiving his diploma at Duarte Costa University, he was ordained a Presbyter on the 20th August 1991.
He proceeded to enroll at Bethany Bible College (now Bethany Divinity College and Seminary (https://www.bethanybc.edu), He earned his Bachelor of Theology, Summa Cum Lause on 6th June 1996, then a conjoint Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Sacred Theology (M,S.T,) Summa cum Laude on 4th June 1998. Finally, he earned his Doctor of Theological Studies Summa Cum Laude at Bethany, the Canadian Connection (https://www.bethanybc.edu/the-canadian-connection) on 3rd June 2004.
His doctoral thesis was published as Power Living Through Science by iUniverse in 2010. He also wrote Applied Business Ethics, Volume 1: POWER Living Through the Truth.
Dr. Brian Keen now trains people to become disciples in the Ecclesia.
Rev. Brian Keen emulates his unofficial mentor Rabbi Gunter Plaut, of Blessed Memory, who didn't use his doctorate degree when Ministering. He is Minister at the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd - Canadian Orthodox, where he respects The Rudder and Conciliarity which is missing among foreign orthodox denominations.
Next year he will have spent one half of his life as Orthodox in Truth!
