VOICE IN THE DARK: WHEN WORDS FIND YOU

In the quiet hours when Seoul sleeps, her words reach strangers she'll never meetuntil one mysterious listener finds a way into her carefully guarded heart.

Yoon Seo-jin crafts strangers' pain into healing narratives as the writer for Seoul's most popular midnight radio show, "Night's Comfort." For five years, she's remained safely hiddenher words voiced by someone else, her own trauma buried beneath others' stories. The perfect buffer between her heart and the world.

Until a mysterious listener begins sending hauntingly personal messages signed simply as "K."

Each submission speaks directly to Seo-jin's carefully hidden wounds, each message accompanied by songs that seem chosen specifically for her. As their anonymous correspondence deepens, Seo-jin finds herself drawn to this stranger who somehow sees through her protective wallseven as mounting coincidences make her wonder if he's much closer than she realizes.

Kang Min-woo hasn't touched a guitar on stage since the tragic accident that claimed his bandmates' lives five years ago. Crippled by panic attacks and survivor's guilt, he's found unexpected solace in Seo-jin's late-night broadcasts. In her words, he discovers a path back to musicand possibly to himself. But revealing his identity means confronting the past that nearly destroyed him.

When fate finally brings them face-to-face, Seo-jin and Min-woo discover that healing isn't found in forgetting the past, but in transforming it into something new. Together, they navigate the delicate space between memory and hope, silence and sound, isolation and connection.

Set against the backdrop of Seoul's pulsing nightlife and quiet dawn, "Voice in the Dark" is a lyrical exploration of how the most profound connections often form in our most broken places. For fans of emotional love stories where healing and romance intertwine, this novel celebrates the power of words to reach across emptiness and find exactly who needs to hear them most.

Sometimes the voice that saves you comes from the most unexpected frequency.

Autorenporträt
Elena J. Park spends most of her nights awake when the rest of the world sleeps, finding inspiration in the quiet hours when cities transform and guards come down. After years working at a late-night radio station in Seoul, she developed a fascination with the intimate confessions strangers share when they believe no one is listening.

Born to Korean parents and raised between two worlds, Elena writes stories about the unexpected connections that bridge cultural divides, emotional distances, and the spaces between hearts. Her characters often find themselves healing in the most unlikely placesthrough music that speaks when words fail, through words that reach when everything else has failed.

When not writing, Elena can be found exploring small music venues, collecting vintage radios, or walking Seoul's riverside paths at dawn. She firmly believes that our most profound wounds often become doorways to our greatest connections.

She currently divides her time between Seoul and Seattle, and still occasionally sends anonymous letters to radio shows, though she won't tell you which ones.

"I write about the messages we broadcast, hoping someone is out there listening. Because sometimes, the right words find exactly the person who needs them most."
