She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and a master's degree in fine arts from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. She worked for many years as a writer, editor, and speechwriter for IBM. She is the author of eight romance novels and seven nonfiction children's books.
