He competed for Germany in the 1928 Summer Olympics held in Amsterdam, Netherlands in the 4 x 100 metre relay where he won the silver medal with his team mates Georg Lammers, Richard Corts and Helmut Körnig. The men's 4 x 100 metres relay event at the 1928 Olympic Games took place between August 4 & August 5.
