Autorenporträt
A.K. Degirmenci was born in 1989 and raised in New York City. Hehas a love of arts, culture, travel, history, and food. He completed hisB.A. in History and Adolescent Education at Hunter College in2013, and his M.A. in History from Queens College in 2017. Lifebrought him to a radical decision in 2018 to resign from his job as aNYC public school teacher and pursue a Ph.D. in History at KoçUniversity in Istanbul, Turkey. Due to the pandemic, he movedinstead to Kuwait, where the Gulf desert life inspired some of thiswork. Like a cycle, he is back in New York, teaching middleschoolers in Brooklyn - for now.
