SACRU, the Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities, is a network of nine catholic universities cooperating to promote global education for the common good and excellent interdisciplinary research informed by Catholic Social Teaching. The partner universities are: Australian Catholic University, Boston College, Pontificia Universidad Catòlica de Chile, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Pontificia Universidade Catòlica do Rio de Janeiro, Sophia University, Universidade Catòlica Portuguesa, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Universitat Ramon Llull. The Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation is a Vatican entity made up of laypeople, established in 1993 with the motu proprio of Saint John Paul II. Its mission is twofold: to spread Catholic Social Teaching all over the world and to support the charitable work of the Holy Father. It is present in 16 countries with 36 local/national groups and about 400 members. The authors of the book are 17 academics and experts from 10 universities affiliated with SACRU and Centesimus Annus Pro Ponfice Foundation and coordinated by Anna Maria Tarantola. Anna Maria Tarantola is a Member of the Board of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and of the EDUCatt Foundation, and since 2024, Vice President of the Giulia Cecchettin Foundation. She formerly served as Deputy Director General of the Bank of Italy, President of RAI (Italy's national public broadcasting company), and President of the Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation.
