Leading organizational change is one of the more complex and substantive challenges in any managerial career, and its successful implementation will have huge implications for the overall future of organizations. But what do we have to know to be able to conduct organizational change effectively? The book Move or Disappear offers answers to this question using seminal tools - conceptual and practical - developed by Dr. Boaz Shalit, following his research in the field and his rich experience as an organizational an strategic consultant in a broad range of organizations in Israel and abroad. The book addresses a range of issues such as leadership while managing organizational change, how to lead and embed organizational change, and of course - it explains why "changing chairs" is mandatory. The author helpfully draws on a host of 13 animal metaphors which exemplify seminal managerial principles, and the book includes around 100 stories and case studies from the field, and close to 50 diagrams which graphically and effectively illustrate the managerial principles in question. The book is recommended reading for CEOs, managers and employees who wish for promotion to managerial positions, organizational consultants and management students. The book promises to open new windows to deeper and more comprehensive understandings of the intriguing, complicated and challenging world of leading organizational change.
Dr. Boaz Shalit is a former combatant in Israel's elite commando unit Sayeret Matkal, and organizational consultant to Unit 8200, the IDF's Central Intelligence Collection Unit. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Bar Ilan University, for which he researched organizational change processes, and an MBA degree from Tel Aviv University. Boaz lives his life in three circles: In the academic circle he teaches in the Faculty of Business Management at the Ono Academic College, where he also heads the Program in Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the MBA Program, and Head of the Human Resources School. In the practical or applied circle, he is Founder and CEO of Dingo, a Strategic Consulting company, and accompanies managers and organizations in strategic processes and organizational changes. In the third circle - Boaz works hard at living in order to accomplish his dreams. His life is not easy, as he is an avid supporter of the Hapoel Haifa soccer team which loses game after game on a regular basis, but he is comforted by the fact that he has raised a fourth generation of miserable supporters.
