Autorenporträt
Journey to a New Beginning is Godfrey Eneas' fourth book. The other three are Agriculture in The Bahamas: Its Historical Development (1492-2012), New Caribbean: A Region in Transition and Road to Bahamaland: The Story of the New Bahamas. Godfrey is a professional agriculturist who has been The Bahamas' Ambassador to the UN Food and Agriculture and held positions as Chairman/ Director of Agricultural agencies in The Bahamas and CARICOM. Through his academic background, historical research on and professional experience in the Caribbean relative to the genesis of Caribbean Agriculture, he has brought the dimension of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and Slavery to the story of his family's trek from Abeokuta of the 1815 Oyo Empire, now today's Nigeria to The Bahamas in the Caribbean which had come into existence as the New World, now the Americas. Through Journey to a New Beginning, Godfrey brings aspects of this historical epoch to light through the lives of his ancestors and their descendants.
