Leigh Podgorski's stage plays have been produced in Los Angeles, New York City, and regionally. She had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross for her one-act play Windstorm, which was presented as part of the annual festival CelebrateWomen that Leigh also co-produced.We Are Still Here, the story of Cahuilla Indian elder Katherine Siva Saubel premiered at the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum as part of CelebrateWomen 2000. The play has been presented throughout Southern California at college campuses, universities, and Indian Reservations and Casinos. The documentary has been added to the National Museum of the American Indian, a branch of the Smithsonian, and the Getty Collection.In 1999, We Are Still Here received a grant from the California Council for the Humanities for the production of a documentary of the same name.In addition to her plays, Leigh has penned several original award-winning screenplays. Amara, originally a play, won in the Women in Film and Video Screenwriting Competition In addition, several of her monologues have been published through Meriwether Publishing, Ltd.Leigh's novels include Western Song, for which she received the Bronze Medal in the Reader's Favorite Awards; The Women Debrowska, Ouray's Peak, and the Stone Quest Series books: Desert Chimera, Gallows Ascending, and Neuri Shape-shifter.All of Leigh's works of fiction have been reviewed and are available on Amazon@ Leigh Podgorski.
