Zara a girl that came from a wealthy and influential home was led by fate to cross path with the three friends. Deinde eventually became her boyfriend after a fierce rivalry with Tayo, when they were in the university. Zara sponsored Deinde to United States for his graduate studies out of love, when he couldn't secure employment after graduating from a University in Nigeria. Zara had secured employment immediately she finished from school the same year with Deinde in a reputable commercial bank. It was through the connections of her father, who was a senior military officer in Nigerian army. Zara went to visit Deinde when she was apprehensive of losing him to another lady in United States because of the huge financial sacrifices she had made on him. Her documents got expired when she was enjoying her stay in the city of New York. Her close friend when she was in the university in Nigeria conspired against her which led the Immigration Department to arrest her. This incident coincided with a policy arrangement between the government of United States of America and United Nations. The policy directed all illegal immigrants to be sent to the Continent of their origin in a specific refugee camp to be determined by the United Nations refugee agency; UNHCR. In a refugee camp in Kenya, her contact with Clara, a fugitive implicated her with a documents which was a fruit of crime in Uganda. She was arrested and on the way to Uganda from Kenya, the helicopter carrying them crashed killing the pilot and the officer from the government of Uganda that arrested her. Zara and Clara survived the crash miraculously, the incident therefore turned her to fugitive. Did she escape justice? You need to read the whole book.
