She grew up to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Education, becoming a school teacher and then later earned her Master's Degree in Social Work, becoming a social worker to help families in need. However, her love of story-telling has never left her, and she continued to craft stories from her imaginative brain. Throughout her life, she has been a storyteller. In addition to writing, Marquita loves crafting, watching science fiction/horror from the 50's, 60's and 70's, and reading books of all genres.
