This book also analyzes the impact of riverbank erosion on various forms, and reveals the challenges that the government of Bangladesh experiences in managing the risks and vulnerabilities associated with riverbank erosion. Bangladesh, located in the delta of the Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Meghna rivers, is known for its unique landscapes. However, the dependence of the country on its river systems presents considerable environmental issues, with riverbank erosion becoming a serious concern. Riverbank erosion in Bangladesh has significant socio-economic consequences that perpetuate national poverty. This book aims to find the specific answers to the following inquiries. i. Mst. Marzina Begum is a Professor in the Department of Public Administration at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) and a Master of Social Science (MSS) from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. She continued her academic journey by obtaining her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Pavia, Italy. Dr. Marzina Begum's research interests are centered on disaster risk management, environmental policy and governance, and climate change. Her scholarly contributions are substantial, with research articles published in distinguished international journals and chapters in books from renowned publishers such as Springer, Routledge, and Business Expert Press. Throughout her career, Dr. Marzina Begum has actively participated in international seminars, workshops, and conferences, where she has presented her research findings and engaged in discussions on critical issues in her field.
