As a proud graduate of Southern Illinois Carbondale where she studied Fashion, Marketing and Black American Studies, She specializes in blending her skills from her college years and career experience to educate, connect and promote the awareness of black businesses within the niche market of fashion. Melody is the founder of the Black Fashion Week USA brand( www.blackfashionweekusa.com) which has been featured on a host of tv, radio and print media including Good Day Chicago Fox 32, ABC7 Chicago to name a few, She is also one of the recipients of the Outstanding Women in Fashion award by Honorable Judge Dorothy Brown circuit clerk of Cook County, IL
