Epilepsy is a chronic disorder. In most cases, an appropriate pharmacological approach effectively controls the disease and allows patients to live a normal, high-quality life, provided they adhere to the treatment plan. In ancient times, epilepsy was considered an incurable disease before the discovery of therapeutic drugs. This discovery, thank God, has brought about a major shift in the care provided. Most patients treated with appropriate medication live normal lives, leaving only a small minority of patients requiring more complex therapeutic interventions. This book reviews the methods of diagnosis, signs, and causes of epileptic seizures, clarifying concepts and correcting misconceptions among this group. At the end of the book, we discuss the different types of pharmacological treatments, the impact of lifestyle on epilepsy, and provide appropriate guidelines and how to cope with epilepsy at school, work, and on various means of transportation. We ask God Almighty to grant this book the desired benefit for which it was written for the reader. God is behind the intention, and He guides to the path.
