Starting as a New York correspondent for a Korean art magazine, Shinyoung Chung has been contributing for art magazines since 2001, on the up-to-date exhibitions taking place in New York, Seoul and Tokyo. Shinyoung Chung is the chief curator at the Seoul National University Museum of Modern Art. Besides curating, she writes art reviews for Artforum from Seoul and Tokyo, and lectures on modern and contemporary art at the SNU. She holds a Master's degree from Columbia University in Critical Studies in Modern Art and a Ph.D from the SNU with her dissertation "The Influence of Subculture on the Japanese Contemporary Art".
