Autorenporträt
Born in Cameroon, Africa, Sylvie Nomeny is an author, a lawyer, a speaker, a consultant, and is passionate about the pursuit of truth, peace, and justice. Throughout years of experience, Sylvie has realized that society, or the world, is made of lies from all corners. She believes that people are presumed innocent until proven guilty, but society has assumed the opposite, where one is guilty until proven innocent, and the return to that innocent status can be difficult even if later proven true. What keeps Sylvie Nomeny busy outside her profession is to expand Girls' Education in Africa; the vision that has motivated her actions in many countries in the continent. Girls in rural areas of Africa face barriers that exclude them from education, and those in urban areas are limited in their ability to receive such, not because of cultural resistance or unwillingness but because of their inability to receive proper education. Not only has Sylvie contributed to the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF) project for Girls' Education Funds in Africa, she has also participated in multiple colloquiums in Africa on ethics and civic education.Living in the Washington, DC metro area, Sylvie is a member of the American University - Washington College of Law alumni and a board member of the Organization International for the Political Advancement of Women in Africa (OIAPA), an organization with a mission to raise the participation, contribution, and influence of women in Parliament across Africa, and an organization that seeks to echo the voice of the unheard. Though women are better positioned to understand many aspects and impacts of the crises that affect society.
