studied physics at University Ulm, University of Western Ontario, London, Canada and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, where he received his diploma in physics in 2008 and his doctoral degree in 2012. From 2007 until 2012 he worked in high energy physics at the Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, Munich.
