One day in late autumn, Almeda Wray's beloved cat, Mr. Boonjie, is taken by a faerie and flown deep into mysterious West Wood. Almeda has heard scary stories about the dark magic of the Fae who live there, but she knows that if she wants to find Mr. Boonjie, she must enter the Wood. She ignores the fear pounding in her chest, walks to West Wood, and, this time, for the first time, goes in. She meets Raven, a wily old bird, who settles on Almeda's large bun of hair. As he guides her deeper into the Wood, he tells her there is a price to pay if she wants to find Mr. Boonjie. She also encounters a myriad of magical Fae who guard West Wood, including Ariya, a fairie maiden and Almeda's little rescuer. Through Ariya, Almeda discovers why the Fae need Mr. Boonjie for their trip to the moon on All Hallows Eve. Mr. Boonjie and the Moondust Quest is a fairy tale for all ages about courage, sacrifice and learning to embrace the feared "other."
