Contemporary Iraqi poetry, born from the womb of wars and mass starvation, reflects a new face of Gilgamesh, who witnessed firsthand the destruction of Uruk and the demise of its people under a hail of shells, missiles, and smart bombs. He moved not to Dilmun in search of its herb, but rather to search for a herb that would grant him a visa for the new Bedouin lifestyle on a journey of salvation from the current blazing heat and its raging storm that affects everything. He left behind the voice of the Bedouin poet who used to sing in the paradise of the land: Here I am, with you, life is pleasant and pleasant And your breezes heal the wound and make it pleasant Here I learned loyalty and kindness from you Here I am, people of hospitality and pampering
