Autorenporträt
Therese L. Baker has taught social research methods since 1975. She is one of the twelve founding members of California State University, San Marcos, founded in 1989, where she is currently program director in sociology and in social science. She received her undergraduate education at Cornell University and her graduate education at University of Chicago. She was a member of the sociology department at De Paul University in Chicago for eighteen years, during which she served as chairperson of the Sociology Department, director of the Chicago Area Studies Center, and director of the Urban Studies program. She held the position of visiting scholar at the Institute for Research on Women and Gender at Stanford University. Dr. Baker has been an advisory editor for Contemporary Sociology, The Sociological Quarterly, The American Sociologist, and Gender and Society.
