Gynecocracy (the word is defined as a society ruled by women): A Narrative of the Adventures and Psychological Experiences of Julian Robinson is a written in the form of an autobiography by the pseudonymous "Viscount Ladywood", and was first published in the twilight years of the Victoria era in 1893. In a quite remarkable story that is shocking even in this day the author recounts his punishment as a boy at the hands of the governess to whom he is sent, along with three female cousins, after having taken indecent liberties with a household maid. Julian is quickly turned into Julia as he is forced to wear girls' clothing as his ordinary attire. The book deals well with his psychological state as he is subjected to frequent flagellations, as are his cousins. Later he marries one of these cousins and continues to submit to her dominance through continued forced feminization and cross-dressing. A tale of its time or just an author with a very vivid and erotic imagination?
