This book is a verse-by-verse commentary on three of Paul's epistles to his "sons in the faith." Both Timothy and Titus received and believed Paul gospel. Then, they became teachers of the Gospel of Grace. These young men were facing opposition from outsiders as well as those within the assembly as they worked to teach the fellowship of believers. Paul letters gives instruction as well as encouragement to these young pastors in their ministry. He reminds them of the sound doctrine they had received from him and gives instruction for correctly handling those within the assembly. All this he did as a father would instruct his son. The books of 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy and Titus are letters of love to all of those who will faithfully carry on the work of the Apostle Paul and his Gospel of the Grace of God. Dr. Greene uses an easy-to-read verse-by-verse expository style. By using Scripture to teach Scripture, it will allow the reader to understand the original intent of Paul's letters to his "sons in the faith."
The author has over thirty-five years of experience as an insurance agent managing a multi-state independent agency selling both property and casualty as well as life insurance. During his career, he taught and explained the content and meaning of policies to his clients. Now retired, he continues to devote much of his time to teaching the Bible through rightly dividing the Word of Truth. He obtained his Bachelor of Theology, Master of Biblical Studies, and Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Evangelical Theological Seminary where he holds the position of Dean of Graduate Studies. He also holds a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling through the National Association of Christian Counselors. He wrote his dissertation on viewing the Bible from the three systems of theology, those predominantly held by evangelical churches today. Each system yielded a different interpretation. Based upon his research, he published his dissertation entitled Understanding Scripture - Using the Literary Structure of the New Testament. Now, he presents right division to benefit those who love God and want to understand the Bible both in general and the end times specifically.Dr. Greene remains committed to following Paul's example. It was Paul who said he was the least of all saints much like the author and many other Christians. However, it is never about us. It is only about Him Who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. It is God our Saviour, "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:4). His Holy Spirit works to accomplish that in each of us.Paul said that much grace was given to him so that he should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. He goes on to say that he wished to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world, had been hidden in God. God reveals to us His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is my desire that you see the fellowship of the mystery where we will forever be in Christ!
