12-for-12: A Practical Guide to a Year of Spiritual Formation in Community is a resource-rich book for churches and other Christian ministries who want to develop holistically formed disciples and leaders in a group context. 12-for-12 groups are based on the "cardinal directions of the spiritual life:" ¿ Our upward connection to God ¿ Our inward transformation ¿ Our connectedness to "one another" in Christian community ¿ Our participation in the outward mission of God in the world. This guide provides tools and resources for a yearlong group of 8-12 people committed to monthly meetings and deep formational work in between. Each chapter focuses on a central facet of spiritual formation and provides homework assignments for the month, including but not limited to readings, prayer exercises, Scripture engagement, and films. Appendices containing guidelines for spiritual practices, full-color artwork for reflection, a complete month-by-month leader guide, and other resources are also included.
