It's a constant race to pounce on spoils. Spouses stand in front of each other's mirrors despite the fact that leaving is the only choice. Dreams and quests consume their owners. This novel's intersections are also decisive just as the funeral of Aziz Pasha coincides with the crowd of protestors demanding that Gamal Abdel Nasser withdraw his resignation.
