He graduated in Chemistry from the American University of Beirut, pursued medical studies in Belgium, and obtained a degree in Islamic Law from Damascus. His spiritual journey began in childhood under the guidance of Grandshaykh `Abdullah ad-Daghestani ق and Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al Haqqani ق, leading to 40 years of rigorous training that instilled in him deep wisdom, intellect, and compassion. In 1991, he moved to the United States and established the Naqshbandiyya-Nazimiyya Sufi Order of America, founding 23 Sufi centers across North America. He has lectured at prestigious universities, including Yale, Oxford, and Columbia, and has engaged in outreach efforts to promote love, peace, and acceptance within Traditional Islam. Shaykh Kabbani ق has met with numerous world leaders, scholars, and community members, working to counter radicalism and foster tolerance in conflict areas. As the founder and chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of America, he leads initiatives focused on moral excellence and interfaith dialogue. Recognised for his influence, he was named one of the "500 Most Influential Muslims" in 2012. He is married to Hajjah Naziha Adil ق, a descendant of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and is deeply committed to his mission of spreading spiritual teachings and building community resilience against extremism.
