O autor é um engenheiro civil com especialização em engenharia rodoviária de Moscovo, Rússia. Atualmente, trabalha como investigador no Building and Road Research Institute (BRRI) em Kumasi, no Gana. Os seus principais interesses incluem a conceção e construção de estradas e a análise da segurança dos pavimentos. É também um acérrimo defensor da segurança rodoviária.
