Born in the United Kingdom, Marchant published over 150 novels, many of which were set in exotic or adventurous locations. Marchant wrote most of her work under her own name but occasionally used the pseudonym Bessie Marchant Comfort or Mrs. J.A. Comfort. Her books were popular in their time and remain beloved by readers of historical and adventure fiction. Many of her novels have been reprinted and continue to captivate modern audiences with their themes of bravery, loyalty, and personal growth. Some of her most notable works include By Honour Bound, A Countess from Canada, and The Adventurous Seven.
