A Dramatic Approach to Reading Comprehension makes what is implicit to experienced educational drama specialists explicit for classroom teachers with little to no experience in drama. It discusses four strategies that develop comprehension--story dramatization, character interviews, tableau, and human slide shows--with processes for integrating each drama strategy. It also includes a comprehensive treatment of assessment in both drama and reading comprehension.
