Autorenporträt
Bram Stoker (1847-1912) was an Irish author best known for writing the iconic Gothic novel Dracula (1897). Born in Dublin, Ireland, Stoker overcame a sickly childhood to become a successful writer, theatre critic, and the personal manager of famed actor Sir Henry Irving. His work on Dracula combined folklore, horror, and Victorian anxieties to create one of the most enduring figures in literature the vampire Count Dracula. Though he wrote other novels and short stories, it was Dracula that secured his legacy, shaping the modern image of the vampire and influencing generations of horror writers and f ilmmakers. Stoker's atmospheric storytelling and imaginative vision continue to captivate readers more than a century after his death.
