Ethel Rose De Vrieze-McBean was born in the rural hills of St. Mary, Jamaica. In 1979, she moved to the Netherlands following her marriage to Pieter de Vrieze. She holds a bachelor s degree in Education, a master s degree in Education and Literary Studies, and a PhD in Tourism Research (UK). Currently, Rose works as a researcher and advisor for several academic journals. Her hobbies include gardening, writing, and spending time with family and friends. She is a life-long learner.
