O.P. Mishra is a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, India (F.N.A.Sc.) for his pioneering work involving Applied Geophysics / Seismology / Disaster Risk Management having over 30-years of experience in different fields of earth sciences and seismology. He obtained M.Sc. Tech degree from IIT (ISM)-Dhanbad in Applied Geophysics; Ph.D.; D.Sc. from Geodynamics Research Centre, Ehime University, Japan in Seismology; Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDMA) from Centre of Education of All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi, the Apex body of Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) with specialization in Finance Management. D.C. Naskar received M.Sc. in Physics from Calcutta University. He was conferred with doctorate degrees from Jadavpur University. He worked for three and half years in Assistant Teacher in Physics in West Bengal Govt. Aided HS School. He also worked in West Bengal State Electricity Board, Santaldih, Purulia, West Bengal and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant in South Eastern Railway in Waltair, Andhra Pradesh prior to join in GSI. He joined GSI in July 1989. Dr. D.C. Naskar has held the position of Director (Geophysics) in Geological Survey of India (GSI). Over 32 years of experience in geophysical mapping employing gravity, magnetic, deep resistivity, GPS, and magnetotelluric (MT), and seismic techniques at different regions of Geological Survey of India (GSI).
